This is a call for abstracts to present at the 2022 Atlantic Reclamation Conference, to be held at the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS from November 8-10, 2022. Abstracts are due September 8, 2022.

CLRA Alberta is now accepting abstracts for our Lunch & Learn Series! The series will be hosted in person in both Calgary & Edmonton and will run from October 2022 through to April 2023.

The Dr. Edward M. Watkin Award is one of three prestigious awards and is named after a founding member of the CLRA/ACRSD in recognition of his significant service to furthering land reclamation in Canada. The award is presented in recognition of major contributions of the nominee to land reclamation, especially through service to foster advances in regulation, reclamation success or development of personnel or students.

#CLRANews Highlights

The Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) is pleased to announce the 2022 Atlantic Reclamation Conference (ARC2022). This years conference will be held at the Cox Institute of the Dalhousie Truro Campus, November 8-10, 2022. At this time, the organizing committee is seeking individuals who are interested in presenting an oral or poster presentation at the conference. We have received many submissions already and the deadline for submissions is still open.

The Scientific Program Committee, on behalf of the Society for Ecological Restoration – Eastern Canada (SER-EC) and Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) in cooperation with the Ontario chapter of SER (SER-O), the Canadian chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS Canada), the International Peatland Society (IPS) and the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) is now inviting new proposals for symposia, workshops, and training courses to be held at RE3 2023 Conference: Reclaim, Restore, Rewild, from 11–15 June, 2023 in Quebec City, Canada.

The Andrea McEachern Memorial Scholarship honours Andrea McEachern and will be awarded annually to a candidate that exemplifies volunteerism and initiative in the reclamation/remediation industry. The CLRA and Preston McEachern will match the donation amounts (up to 5K) collected by September 17, 2022, and for the years to come.

CLRA Alberta is now accepting abstracts for our Lunch & Learn Series! The series will be hosted in person in both Calgary & Edmonton and will run from October 2022 through to April 2023.

We are proud to host a joint conference between the Society for Ecological Restoration – Eastern Canada (SER-EC) from June 11th to 15th, 2023. Please note that the deadline for submission for the field trip proposals has been moved to September 12, 2022.

The IN-TECH Reclamation Award (Formerly the Noranda Land Reclamation Award) is one of three prestigious awards of the CLRA/ACRSD. This award celebrates innovative techniques that advance the practice of reclamation in Canada within any sector of industry (i.e mining, forestry, oil & gas). Submission deadline is September 30th.

Congratulations to Nova Scotia Lands Inc. on receiving the 2022 IN-TECH Reclamation Award (Group). Since its establishment in 2006, Nova Scotia Lands Inc. has done a diverse array of reclamation projects throughout Nova Scotia.

The Atlantic Chapter of the CLRA is holding the 2022 Annual General Meeting on Thursday, April 7 at 5:00 PM AST in person at the Wooden Monkey Dartmouth or virtually via GoTo Meeting.
