This presentation will provide a broad overview of the challenges posed by current and future soil preparations.  With various testing procedures, an exact model can be completed to determine what source of nutrients will need to be naturally regenerated into the soil.  Native planting strategies, encouraging ideas on how to mitigate issues with non-habituated zones for restoration planning will be discussed.  Strategies will include diversity in site preparation techniques with the consideration of organic mineral supplementation to the soil organics.

Speaker Bio

Shannon Simpson, Senior Reclamation Coordinator, Tree Time Services Inc. 

Shannon Simpson is a Senior Reclamation Coordinator with Tree Time Services Inc. and holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary (2007) and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Louisiana State University (1993).  Shannon has managed the environmental, reclamation, remediation, construction, and R&D programs at a number of oil and gas companies. Compiling her knowledge working on various North American and International projects fuels her passion for nature and her need to create holistic programs that build community and share knowledge.
