CLRA Québec Symposium 2025: Ecological Restoration in Eastern Québec and the Acadian Peninsula

The Quebec Chapter of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA/ACRSD) invites you to its 2025 Symposium, organized in collaboration with Society for Ecological Restoration – Eastern Canada (SER-EC).

The symposium theme is: “Ecological Restoration in Eastern Quebec and the Acadian Peninsula.”

📍 Dates: June 1–3, 2025
📍 Location: Auberge de la Pointe, Rivière-du-Loup (Quebec)

Program Highlights:

🗓️ Sunday June 1st – Field trips from 13h00 to 17h30:

  • Option 1: Restoration of coastal wetlands along the St. Lawrence River — a guided excursion led by coastal conservation specialists.
  • Option 2: Visit to a restored and active peatlands, focusing on sustainable practices and applied research.

🍽️ In the evening, an optional festive BBQ dinner will offer a chance to connect in a relaxed setting.

🗓️ June 2 – Symposium Day from 8h30 to 17h30:
Presentations, scientific discussions, coffee breaks, buffet lunch, and a networking cocktail.

Fees:

  • Field Trips: $95 (taxes and platform fees extra)
  • BBQ Dinner: $62 (taxes, service, and platform fees extra)
  • Symposium Day:
    • Members of CLRA/ACRSD, SER-EC, or students: $140 (taxes and platform fees extra)
    • Regular rate: $180 (taxes and platform fees extra)

🗓️ June 3 – Optional Event: Celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Bois-des-Bel Research Station. Hosted by the GRET, this event will highlight 25 years of research in peatland ecology. Information and registration here.

**Both field trip options and the symposium are eligible for CERP Continuing Education Credits (CECs) through SER.
