Volunteer Opportunities

CLRA Alberta has a dedicated Board of Directors and several active committees that work together to support our organization. We appreciate the commitment of our volunteers and welcome anyone interested in joining our committees to complete the volunteer application provided.

Volunteer Expectations

  • Be an active CLRA Member.
  • Act in a professional manner and in a way which promotes and upholds our Vision and Mission.
  • Participate as a volunteer for a minimum of 2-year term (to improve continuity and effectiveness of the Committees).

Our Committees

Networking & Events Committee

The Networking and Events Committee is responsible for organizing events that facilitate networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the land reclamation community.

Alberta Showcase Committee

The Showcase Committee focus on highlighting interesting and unique reclamation and remediation projects through engaging in-person field trips and networking events.

Student Relations Committee

The Student Relations Committee focuses on fostering relationships with post-secondary educational institutions, as well as engaging and supporting students pursuing studies in land reclamation and related fields. Responsibilities include  offering mentorship opportunities, coordinating scholarships or awards, and facilitating student participation in CLRA activities.

Lunch & Learn Committee

This Committee is responsible for planning the Lunch and Learn events. These sessions are designed to promote knowledge sharing, industry updates, and professional development in a relaxed, interactive setting.

Golf Committee

The Golf Committee coordinates the Annual CLRA Alberta Charity Golf Tournament. They ensure that the event runs smoothly, providing a social and enjoyable environment for participants to connect and engage with one another.

Conference Committee

The Conference Committee is responsible for coordination and execution of all aspects of the event including, the program, sponsorship, and venue. They work to create an engaging and informative experience for attendees, bringing together experts, industry professionals, and stakeholders to discuss trends, challenges, and innovations in land reclamation.

Program Committee

The  Program Committee is responsible for developing the content and structure of the association’s annual conference. The committee ensures the program provides valuable learning experiences, promotes knowledge sharing, and highlights the latest advancements in land reclamation practices

Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee’s duties include promoting best practices for land reclamation, supporting the development of policies that ensure environmental responsibility, and fostering education and awareness within the industry.

Indigenous Advisory Committee

The Indigenous Advisory Committee provides guidance and works to ensure that Indigenous perspectives and traditional knowledge are incorporated into land reclamation practices. The committee strives to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring their rights, interests, and cultural values are respected throughout reclamation projects.
