Call for Abstracts

To satisfy this years’ theme, ‘Canadian Reclamation – Growing Since 1975’, we are seeking abstracts for technical presentations on topics such as:

  • Partnerships and collaboration to meet fast-paced industry needs.

  • Emerging technology with respect to various soils/vegetation and reclamation assessment, data collection, and field equipment we use, including heavy equipment.

  • Indigenous viewpoints and knowledge contributions to improve project end results and environmental understanding.

  • Evolving planning and approaches to meet expectations while maintaining quality and professional standards.

  • What learnings between industries have been valuable and need to be more widely communicated (mining, oil and gas, commercial, forestry, renewable energy, urban, etc.)?

  • What partnerships (e.g. industry, government, academia, research, indigenous) are essential to building our capacity and adaptability as an industry? How are these developed and applied to projects?

  • What gaps were identified during this growth period and how has/will research addressed them?

  • How have we anticipated and adapted to a rapidly evolving regulatory and social climate?

  • How are we moving small scale (e.g., well pads, seismic lines) and large-scale projects towards closure (e.g., oil sands, wind farms, solar, mining) despite evolving challenges?

  • What have you learned from interesting projects: failures and successes, adapting to changes from office plan to field execution, and tackling issues with a unique approach and perspective?

Some Other Topics for Consideration:

  • Closure Strategies
  • ESG
  • Students & Career
  • Innovation & Technology
  • New Approaches for Assessment, Remediation and/or Reclamation
