A graduate student position (M.Sc. level) will be available in January 2018 in the department of Biological Sciences at the University of Manitoba. The project focuses on revegetation of disturbed areas in Northern Manitoba. The goal of this research is to identify suitable plant species based on their ecological and physiological requirements and provide guidelines on the strategies to use for revegetation of borrow pits. The research team includes Dr. Sylvie Renault and Dr. John Markham. The ideal candidate will have a background in plant biology or related fields, a valid driving license, be able to work independently and communicate well with others. The position will remain open until filled.
