CLRA  Alberta Chapter Student Awards Program

The CLRA - AB Chapter unveiled a new student awards program at the 25th Annual CLRA Conference in Edmonton, September 2000. The program provides an increase in the number, variety and value of student awards and involves corporate sponsorship. The response to the program has been very positive from our membership, sponsors and the students. The CLRA - AB Chapter recognizes the importance of bringing students into the organization and forward into the field of reclamation. We hope to continue to evolve our student awards program as new ideas come forward and additional funding is found.

The student awards program has two components

Academic Merit Awards are provided to the student in each recognized reclamation program at the University of Alberta, Lakeland College, Lethbridge College and Olds College. Awards, are presented to the top  students in each of these programs, as selected by the institutions.

Conference Presentation Awards can include up to three awards for oral presentation by graduate students, up to one award for oral presentation by undergraduate or college students, and up to two awards for poster presentations by graduate, undergraduate or college students. Full time students attending any university or college in the province may compete for conference presentation awards.
